Where available, we use FSC wood from responsible forest management and PEFC wood from sustainable forest management. Wherever possible, we purchase the remaining material regionally.
Our wood waste is processed into briquettes. The waste from the tin workshop is completely recycled. Otherwise, all waste is disposed of separately according to type.
We provide our employees with a Half-Fare travelcard free of charge so that as much public transport as possible can be used for both business and private purposes. Employees who have to travel a lot by car attend the course on ecological driving.
Our new building (2012) was realized in a wooden element construction method. The older parts of the building have been extensively renovated and fitted with well insulated windows and roofs.
Since 2017, a photovoltaic system with an annual production of around 30 MWh has been supplying us with solar energy. In the winter half-year approximately 95% of the produced electricity is consumed locally, over the whole year it is approx. 80%.
Our state-of-the-art wood chip firing system recycles the production waste into valuable heating energy, supplemented if necessary by wood pellets. This heating system supplies our entire company buildings and a neighbouring apartment building with heat.
