Music contributes to the quality of life
Sunneziel Senior Citizens' Centre is located in the attractive municipality of Meggen on Lake Lucerne. It offers residents an ideal home for a high quality of life in retirement.
In March 2016 we were awarded the contract to build a new organ for the Centre's own chapel. Our principal wished to have a stoplist that would be suitable for senior citizens, i.e. without any high, shrill stops. It was a challenge, particularly in view of the very restricted space.
Our design for the front, with its gentle rounding, fits in with the curved construction of the walls, a striking element in the design of the chapel. Discreetly and elegantly, the organ melds into the room.
With its six stops and one manual, the organ is reduced to a minimum. The manual stops are equipped with double drawstops, i.e. the sliders are divided into bass and treble. This enables the registers to be exploited in the best possible manner. The pedal stop Subbass 16 ' has deliberately been given a wide scale, facilitating a good foundation. Here, too, the goal is not a high number of decibels, but a soft, pleasant fullness of tone.
The new organ was dedicated on Easter Sunday, 2017. It enhances the chapel in a unique way, and enriches both church services and cultural events with its sound.
