Schlosskapelle
Working in close collaboration with our customers in Bad Wurzach, we were able to design a façade for the «Schlosskapelle» which is carefully in keeping with the proportions of this historic chapel. It was not our aim to copy the architectural features of the baroque side alters, but rather to create an organ in contemporary style which reflects the modern design of the main alter area. The pipe shades, made of lime, were designed and carved by the wood sculptress Annelie Krämer, whose work can also be seen on the side-pieces of the church pews. Through this, an interesting link between organ and church interior was formed which the astute observer will register down to the finest detail.
The technical design of the new organ is based entirely on the available space. The depth of the gallery is small and the maximum width of the instrument was determined by the position of the windows on each side. We chose a design which saves space effectively. All the pipes are situated in the same case, with the 12 largest pipes being positioned outside it, on the wall behind the organ.
In terms of tone colour, this organ with its 14 stops offers remarkable versatility, from leading congregational singing, through the playing of solo and trio compositions, to concert literature. In addition, a suitable instrument is now available for the training of organists, an area in which the «Salvatorkolleg Bad Wurzach» has made a name for itself.
