The organ was dismantled after a fire in year 2000. It was rebuilt in 2005 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Heidkamp, Germany.
The parish of Oberstrass decided to «look to the future» through purchasing an electric organ and so enabled the German parish of St. Joseph to become the proud owners of a Kuhn organ which was highly suited to their church.
