How do you decide upon the appearance of a modern organ which has been built for a small Romanesque church with a Renaissance pulpit and large frescoes from 1917 covering the walls? Through intensive and productive collaborative work, with the organ committee of Diemtigen and the organ advisor on one side, and the organ builders from Kuhn on the other, a specification and plan of the exterior appearance of the instrument were drawn up.
Comparable to a game of ping-pong, various ideas, suggestions and thoughts were thrown back and forth until the final solution for this interesting larch case was finally decided upon.
A special enhancement to the case was provided by the Diemtigen wood sculptor Franz Wiedmer who carved the pipe shades out of natural lime wood. Through the depiction of images from Paul Zehnder's frescoes, the observant visitor will notice connections between the organ and the choir and pulpit areas of this unique church.
