A classic solution....

A classic solution doesn't have to be mundane: For the simple interior of the church of Ilanz with its wooden ceiling and white walls we chose a clearly structured format for the façade and case which reflects typical design principles of the mid-19th century: an expansive front, with some pipes set further into the façade and few, but large individual sections in the front pipe arrangement. The vertical pillars which continue to the ground create balance in the appearance of the organ and optically reduce the considerable width of the case.

Also tending towards the ideals of the 19th century is the scaling of the pipes (after Friedrich Haas) and the arrangement of tonal elements, essentially classic, with mutation stops richly represented. Unmistakeable features of the Romantic period are, however, also present. The 8' and 16' stops enable a wide and colourful tonal spectrum to be achieved.

This newly built organ is the result of successful collaboration between teams of advisors and organ builders.
